It’s official, Simply Heaven Photography will be moving into a beautiful natural light studio in Downtown Southern Pines! It’s located on NW Broad Street right across the street from the Southern Pines Train Station and will be opening in June!!!  I’ll be offering newborn, baby, child, and family portraits in this fabulous new studio space!

 

 

Creating a studio on Broad Street has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, atleast as far back as I began photographing newborns in my first home studio. It’s so exciting to  see my hard work pay off and dreams come true!  There are big plans for this studio including multiple shooting areas to give different feels to the portraits. But first lots of work needs to be done stripping paint, cleaning old floors, cleaning walls, and exposing more of the gorgeous original brickwork but while I was up checking on progress today the painters were hard at work scraping and repainting the ceilings. Transforming an old building into usable space is hard work but so much fun to watch unfold!

Natural Light & Studio Lighting

 

The large windows provide gorgeous natural light that I’m super excited to work with. Until now my studio has always used studio lighting as I’ve never had giant windows like these to harness all that gorgeous light. My studio lights will still used (especially on cloudy days) but am excited to offer a new “look” to my clients. The exposed brick between the windows runs under the plaster on another wall as well! Another project might be seeing how to expose that brick and use it for a stunning backdrop.

Lots of Work

 

The floors are mostly original but some places have been replaced with plywood. I’m going to get creative to find some flooring solutions that will photograph beautifully! The rest of the original floors are in great shape once the paint dust is cleared away. Lots of cleaning to do in the next few weeks!

 

 

Great New Details

 

This place has tons of character. From the original floors to the tin ceilings to the original transom windows, I can’t wait to create beautiful portraits with these fun details as backdrops. And these are just of the new storage room!  I couldn’t access the main room today as there was so much work going on inside.

 

 

Newest Photography Studio in Southern Pines

 

I can’t wait to give this previously overlooked space a new life with the pitter patter of toddling feet and the sweet giggles of my baby clients. And it’s perfect to accommodate families of all sizes, much better than my current family photography studio!
