Welcome Baby | Fayetteville Fresh48
From the second a baby is born, they seem to change before our very eyes. Babies live in water before they are born, and are swollen the first few days after delivery. As the swelling recedes, their features begin to change at a pace so quick that they seem to change as we sit and watch. That is one of the reasons I love to do Fresh48 sessions while baby is still in the hospital. They are a fresh 24-48 hours old, and brand new to this world. While this Fayetteville Fresh48 session was photographed at Cape Fear Valley when baby was 48 hours old, I’ve also photographed babies at Moore County Hospital, and Womack Army Medical Center. I also travel to Raleigh and Durham to photograph babies in the Triangle area.
A Fresh48 Session is perfect for the family who doesn’t want the entire birth experience documented, but would still like a beautiful way to remember baby in their first few hours.
Sleeping Baby
We photographed this Fayetteville Fresh 48 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center and started with baby swaddled in her bassinet. She was sleeping quietly and then woke and cried a bit for her mom to pick her up.
Family of Three
It was a cold and dreary day outside, but the light in the hospital room was perfectly beautiful. We were able to photograph some of mom with baby, and some pictures of the new family of three.
Safe in Mom’s Arms
There is something surreal and transcending about seeing a mom holding her new babe. A Fresh48 session is not posed, and is classified as a lifestyle session. We simply document the special relationships between a newly expanded family.
This Fresh48 In-Hospital Session is an addition to The Baby Plan. To see more images from family’s series, click the links below:
